The Amethyst Extended AU (AEAU for short) is an upcoming Minecraft: Story Mode fan series created by Mine-imator artist and YouTuber KanOfSoda (me!). It is teased to be a remake of Minecraft: Story Mode, similar to Wazzy's Block by Block: The Amulet, with its own extended storylines, character development, and lore.
Announced in October 2024, it was originally meant to be an animated series. For many months after that, there have been occasional updates, such as a Christmas special release of stills, and other small specials and casting announcements.
On August 31, 2025, it was announced on the official Discord server that the AEAU would be changed into a Web Comic series instead of an animated series.
According to the announcement, many of the cast and crew have been incredibly busy with their own lives, as well as my lack of animation skills. Because of the constant delays, it has been decided that, to make things easier, the series would be released as a web comic instead of an animated series.
Now that some of the voice actors have already recorded their lines, it was decided that their lines would not go to waste. Instead, the lines would be used as comic dubs, to be released on AEAU’s official YouTube channel. The episodes will release, just like TV episodes. It will be in the form of web comics instead of animated episodes.

The AEAU is teased to have a ton of story potential, with expanded character development and storylines, a tale that would not want to be forgotten.

It is unknown when Order of the Stone Season 1: Withered Horizons will be released, but it is expected to speed up in production. For anyone who is interested in upcoming updates and news, the Discord server link is available here:
