In the Minecraft: Story Mode fandom, there is a massive trend of fanfictions and AUs on the rise, preferably those that consist of voice acting and/or animation.
The latest series, within this wide variety of content, is titled, "Shattered Reality" by SilentBeaver, a render artist in the MCSM fandom. The summary is described as such:
"Shattered Reality is an animated AU of Minecraft: Story Mode, which has Petra as the main protagonist. Taking place after S2, where Jesse and Petra hit the road, it dives heavily into mental health, communication, and learning to open up and address your problems in a healthy manner.
The main premise is horror, as Petra learns that she has past trauma from the multiple terrifying events she’s been through, which she locked deep away in her mind. It resurfaces, retaliating, taking shape, and changing her perception of reality. She desperately tries to fight against it, but realises it’s too late. It’s already made its way out.
After the two had a nice year together, Jesse left Petra for Beacontown. Will Petra be able to stick it out?" [src]
It has been presented in SilentBeaver's renders on DeviantArt and Tumblr, as well as YouTube short animations, which you can go check out.Now, the AU will be adapted into an animated series, which is seeking voice actors. On August 8, 2025, SilentBeaver created an announcement, in which people can audition for Shattered Reality, advertised on Discord, YouTube, and Tumblr.
According to the post, she has been trying to search for voice actors for a while, especially on CastingCallClub, but the journey has been tough.
Auditions are expected close within a week from the time it was posted, which is approximately around August 15, 2025.
